Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Hashkrio Tech LLP (“we”, “us”), the company that makes and runs Hash Vault. They cover the Hash Vault website and the Hash Vault apps for iPhone, iPad and Android (together, “Hash Vault”). By creating an account or using Hash Vault, you accept these terms and our privacy notice. If you don't agree, please don't use Hash Vault.

1. Who can use Hash Vault

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • An account is for one person. Parents may keep their children's information in their own account; children may not have accounts.
  • If you use Hash Vault for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
  • You may not use Hash Vault if the law where you live forbids it, or if you are barred from receiving services under applicable sanctions laws.

2. Your account and its security

  • Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your email address up to date: we use it for security notices and to help you back in.
  • Keep your password, app PIN, recovery codes and two-step device private. Anyone who has them can open your vault. We strongly recommend turning on two-step verification.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password, sign out other devices (Settings → Security) and tell us.
  • If you lose access to both your email address and your two-step device and recovery codes, we may not be able to give you back access, because we can't verify it is you.

3. Your content

  • What you put in your vault (notes, passwords, files, records, contacts and everything else) belongs to you.
  • You allow us to store, encrypt, back up, process and show your content only to run Hash Vault for you: for example to sync it to your devices, search it, read documents you upload, send the reminders you set, and share it with the people you choose. This permission ends when your content is deleted.
  • We do not sell your content, show advertising, or use your vault to train AI models.
  • You are responsible for having the right to store what you add, including other people's contact details and information about your children, and for keeping your own copies of anything important. You can export everything at any time from Settings → Your data.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Hash Vault to:

  • store, share or send anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, material that infringes someone else's rights, or anything that promotes violence or terrorism;
  • harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate anyone, or send spam through sharing, invitations or reminders;
  • upload viruses or harmful code, or try to get into other people's accounts, our servers or our systems;
  • test, scan, overload or disrupt Hash Vault, or copy, scrape, resell or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows;
  • store other people's personal data without a lawful reason.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, as described in section 12.

5. Sharing, household alerts and legacy access

  • You decide what to share, with whom, and with what access (view, edit or pay). People you share with can see and, if you allow it, change what you share. You can take access back at any time.
  • People you name in your household can receive copies of the renewal alerts you choose.
  • Legacy nominees you choose can ask for access to your vault if something happens to you. They get it only after the waiting period you set and our checks, and you can decline their request during that time.

6. Reminders and notifications

Hash Vault sends reminders for renewals, bills, documents, events and other dates by in-app notification, push, email and, where enabled, WhatsApp. We work hard to deliver them on time, but delivery depends on your devices, settings, networks and other services, so a reminder may arrive late or not at all. Reminders help you; they don't replace your own care. We are not responsible for a payment, renewal, deadline or appointment you miss.

7. AI and smart features

  • Features such as search by meaning, answers to questions, document reading, summaries and voice typing are optional. Search by meaning runs on our own servers.
  • Some features use an outside AI provider only if you turn them on, and only as our privacy notice explains. Passwords, secrets and protected sections are never sent to an AI provider.
  • Answers produced automatically can be wrong or incomplete. Check them before you rely on them. Nothing in Hash Vault is financial, tax, legal or medical advice.

8. Other services

You may sign in with Google or with Sign in with Apple, receive messages through WhatsApp, email or push services, and open links to other websites. Those services are run by others under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Prices and payments

If we offer paid plans, we will show the price and what it includes before you pay. Purchases made inside the iPhone or Android app are processed by Apple or Google under their terms, and refunds for them are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. You can cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

10. Availability and changes to Hash Vault

We work to keep Hash Vault available, secure and backed up, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We may improve, change or stop parts of Hash Vault. If we plan to stop the whole service, we will tell you in advance and give you time to export your data.

11. Intellectual property

Hash Vault, its design, software and brand belong to Hashkrio Tech LLP or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Hash Vault under these terms. Open-source parts of Hash Vault are covered by their own licences.

12. Ending your account

  • You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the website: Settings → Your data → Delete account. Everything in it is permanently deleted 30 days later (you can sign in before then to cancel). The steps and details are on Delete your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.

13. Disclaimers

We provide Hash Vault with reasonable skill and care. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without other promises (for example that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free). Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

14. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, Hashkrio Tech LLP is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss that could not reasonably have been foreseen, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Hash Vault in the 12 months before the claim (or ₹5,000 if you paid nothing). We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

15. Indemnity (business use)

If you use Hash Vault for a business, the business will compensate us for claims by others caused by its unlawful use of Hash Vault or its breach of these terms.

16. Apple App Store and Google Play

If you downloaded Hash Vault from the Apple App Store:

  • These terms are between you and Hashkrio Tech LLP only, not Apple. Hashkrio Tech LLP, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence lets you use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Hashkrio Tech LLP, not Apple, is responsible for any maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
  • If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for the app, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Hashkrio Tech LLP, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Hashkrio Tech LLP, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and resolving that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must also follow the terms of any other service you use with the app (for example your mobile data plan).
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

If you downloaded Hash Vault from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to the download, and Google is not responsible for the app. In both cases, questions and complaints about the app come to us (section 19).

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Rajkot, Gujarat have jurisdiction over disputes about them, but if you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the protections its laws give you. Before going to court, please contact us: most problems can be solved quickly.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. For important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The version date is shown at the top. If you keep using Hash Vault after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.

Complaints about content, accounts or these terms go to our grievance officer, Hashkrio Tech LLP, at the email address above. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require.
